I prefer freeware and have little patience so I expect a user friendly interface.

I ran Movica and for editing and joining .wmv videos and it was well set out and quick to respond. What information I needed was excellent in a 2 tier arrangment of quick instructions and then detailed instructions if you need them online. You can see the person in charge has had a need and made a usefull program to fill that need from a users perspective rather than a screen full of buttons and boxes and too many choices and decisions.

The feedback in the trace tab was excellent and made finding problems very easy.

I found in editing it was useful to take on a mindset of "do you want the selected parts or do you want to select parts then use the unselected portions".

I'm very impressed and very thankful to the programmers for providing and designing a well thought out relatively fast and user friendly software. I wish more software was as good in quality.

Note. The online guides are incorporated into the help files. You just need to be online.

I was looking for something that could do basic cut & join edits (a la VirtualDub) on wmv's without requiring recompression, and ALSO with a graphical interface. I've only just started to explore Movica, but within minutes of downloading it I was able to edit segments out of some hi-bitrate wmv's so quickly, easily, seamlessly and effectively. And again, no recompression or format conversion required! It should get even better when I start looking into some of the other features, including those for MPEGs. It's even nice simply as a video player. And it's all free. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
