I have been using this plug-in with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0 for a year now, and I just love it. It made the task of editing dvd-cam content as easy as dv content! Pros: Easy to manage exporting mpg/m2v content Real-time mpg editing (if no effects are added) Cons : Rendering needed when any effect is added Timeline is not always accurate when you click on it to get the red bar Overall, this is a great product that anyone who want to work with mpg's in Premiere Pro should have. I never had any sync problem (referring to the above audio sync pb). Try it, you'll be surprised! *Note that it does NOT work with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. Mainconcept will release the 2.0 version soon, as they said on their website.

I was soooo excited when the product came out that I had to get it. The promise of being able to edit mpeg clips in premiere was amazing. I have an AIW 7500 that I use to capture in Mpeg2(the high quality dvd present). Now, after importing this mpg clip into premiere using mainconcept mpeg pro's dvd standard present, I ran my tests. I cut some parts out and added transitions in place. This simple task made the audio out of sync. After like 5 mins (the original clip is around 2.5 hrs long), I had audio sync problems that got progressively worse. I don't know if others are having this problem, but this pretty much means that I wasted my money, if there is no fix available(none available, that I know off, right now) Other than that, it installed just fine. It was very intuitive and did everything it promised(except for the above mentioned problem, ofcourse)

I normally don't edit Mpegs (avi only), but this product promised so much, I had to give it a try. I was surprised by how easily it edited Mpegs and by the high quality it produced. The test clip was a scene I got from a movie. It was a scene where a building explodes. I imported the m2v and wav into Premiere. I cut it up and rearanged it, then I slowed down a section of it to 50% speed for slow motion. I used some cross-fades, clip overlays, and a title. I figured that would be a good test. The results were impressive, no disernable difference in quallity from original. The play back was excellent and the slow motion scene was first rate. It's almost as easy to edit Mpegs as it is avi's with this thing. It's not perfect (it crashed when I tried to render a BMP), but it works great! Anybody that has Premiere Pro and want's to edit Mpegs, should check out this Demo.
