User options: Email me when it has been updated Report this tool (dead link/new version) Version history:
FFCoder v1.3.0.3 Hide changelog Released: 24-Aug-2011 Changes since v1.3.0.0 Some DLL files were missing in the Setup package js32.dll (Required by MP4Box) DGAVCDecode.dll, libavcodec.dll (Required for encoding MTS/M2T/M2TS files using Avisynth mode) When a VOB file was added (in AVS mode), the video was automatically cropped and deinterlaced. This will not be done anymore. Cropping and deinterlacing must be done explicitly by setting filters. The provided x264 presets were loaded incorrectly. The Initial Buffer Size for 2-pass encoding was set to 0.9% instead of 90%. This was causing some 2-pass encodings to fail. This issue is fixed. MPlayer2 does not support playback of Avisynth files. As a result the video preview was not working in the Trim window. Mplayer2 has been replaced with an older MPlayer version which can play Avisynth files. FFCoder v1.3.0.1 Released: 21-Aug-2011 Changes since v1.2.0.6 The Add DVD option in the File menu has been simplified. Now only the VIDEO_TS folder needs to be selected. Fixed the window layout for systems with large font sizes. Some of the controls were cut-off or hidden from view. The encoder log can be opened even while the file is being encoded (Double-click or use the right-click menu). x264: Corrected psy-trellis option to 0.15 for Tune Film Fractional quantizer values can be selected for all video codecs Files can be dragged on the Add Combined window MTS files will be opened with DGAVC in Avisynth mode. This will eliminate stuttering/corruption issues when MTS files are encoded in Avisynth mode. Fix: Encoding WAV files to FLAC fails Fix: The installer fails to download NeroAAC codec during setup Multiple instances of FFCoder can now be run at the same time Fix: Selecting the Shutdown option (for shutting down the PC after encoding), doesnt work properly in Vista/Win7 due to UAC prompts. Windows commands will be used for shutdown/reboot instead of using NirCmd. Nircmd has been removed from the package. Updated x264 to r2057 Updated FFmpeg to r31572 (2011-07-20) Updated MPlayer to MPlayer2 (2011-08-17) Updated MEncoder to r33883 (2011-07-20) Updated MediaInfo to v0.7.48 Updated MP4Box to v0.4.6 rev2735 (2011-03-02) Updated FFmpeg2theora to v0.28 FFCoder v1.3.0.0 Released: 20-Aug-2011 Changes since v1.2.0.6 The Add DVD option in the File menu has been simplified. Use this option when reporting problems with the output file (such as stuttering, bad quality, etc) FFCoder v1.2.0.0 Released: 2011-05-29 Changes since v1.1.0.5 [New] Option for encoding multiple input files into a single output file (Use the Add Combined option in the File menu) New window for trimming audio/video files. You seek to the nearest scene-change, and multiple segments can be selected for encoding. Added MPUI (an MPlayer frontend) as the default audio/video player. Removed all other players in order to reduce the size of the download package. New tool for correcting timestamps in SRT files. It will add a delay to the SRT file by modifying the timestamps. Better support for DVD ripping (Use the Add DVD option in the File menu). You can add multiple VOB files and they will be combined into a single output file. Indexing will be done using DGIndex. Installer: Option for installing Avisynth Installer: Option for deleting settings from previous version Installer: Option for downloading NeroAAC codec Avisynth: The source filter for opening the input file will be inserted automatically. It cannot be selected/modified by the user. A portable version is also available for download x264 options were updated. [Fixes] The performance counter throws an exception when encoding begins. Adding FLAC files to the input list throws an error. The video preview was not displayed in the crop window on some XP systems. FFIndex files were not deleted on application exit even if the option is selected in the Options->Preferences window. Please note that FFCoder will remove only those ffindex files which it creates. Existing ffindex files will have to be removed manually. The GUI sometimes hangs while indexing the input file. This will not happen anymore. Setting the aspect ratio had no effect when ffmpeg was used as encoder. This issue has been fixed in the latest ffmpeg version. [Updates] Updated MPlayer to r33216 Updated FFMS2 to FFMS2-mt-r464 Updated FFmpeg to git-g3c20c0e (05/24/2011) Updated MediaInfo to v0.7.44 Updated x264 to r1995 Note: Recent MPlayer builds from Sherpya have problems playing AVS files. Hence an older version of mplayer is included which does not have these issues. If you are updating mplayer.exe manually, then please ensure that the new build can play AVS files. Very good alternative to SUPER. Opens and converts to many audio and video formats, can use Avisynth with and very easy to use. Thanks Tony George.

using the standalone version. can't get ac3 to work with mpeg-2 or aac with mpeg-4. not really acceptable. program only says it fails.

Tried version 1.3.0.3. Still can't get x264 encodes to work and any profile that uses AAC audio gives the error: "Forcing output FourCC to 34363248 [H264]. AE_FAAC, Unable to load libfaac.dll Exiting..."
|
|||||||||||||||
Downloaded v1.3.0.1 twice but the program "about" says it's v1.3.0.0. Also have a problem encoding to x264 where it appears no video is encoded and MKVMerge can't find the video file that is supposed to be merged and it fails. On the other hand if I use MPEG4 all seems to work properly.

Perhaps the DVD importer needs a bit more fixing - I couldn't preview any video which was imported from DVD files. Also, it could use some more flexibility, i.e. I would like to choose which title set to import. Another strange behaviour is changing the video specs. A standard PAL DVD with 720x576 MPEG2 video is imported as 704x416 raw video. Things like resolution shouldn't be changed by default. This is what video filters are intended for. However, this is by far the best ffmpeg-and-stuff frontend - MUCH MUCH better than Super! Everyone who complained about Super's development lately should try this one!

The file which Avira complains about is mplayer.exe. Just a guess: as mplayer2 is used, and maybe with a special compression, false positive shows up. I tested the file on Virus Total, and only 3 AVs are showing an alert. Look here: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?i ... 1313890448 Thatīs the problem with Heuristic Scans :-) Program is great, very easy to use. And the use of excellent encoders make the result very pleasant.

whenever I grab this my Avira AV says that this package has the "TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen3". I'm not sure if this is a false positive or if it's harmless or it's sumthin else. Might need a clarification.

This version is a step in the right direction.For a year now,FFCoder is the only transcoding tool on my computer (,and iīve tried a lot of them).PC TV-card + this app = a winner combination.Thanks to author.

Needed a way to convert 5.1 and 2.0 channel AAC (LC) to AC3, either from demuxed mkv (raw AAC) or right from MKV container. Tried several other programs with no success, but this program worked. Very comprehensive transcoding software. Lots of options available for each selectable format. Also implements 2 ways of transcoding, either ffmpeg, or avisynth + directshow, which allows for further video enhancement. Very glad to have found this software, meets my transcoding needs so far.
|
|||||||||||||||
The pro's: it's a very manageable interface - nice, 'tidy'and fast - really great, if you don't know/care too much about command line usage. The cons(s) for me: I would have loved to try using it with mencoder to transcode from h.264 to xvid, but it worked extremely slow (~7 fps) on my system. My computer is not the fastest these days, but with ffmpeg I still get about 15-19 fps during the process, so far having used AVANTI-GUI. Well, still like the look and feel, will try a bit more, perhabs further updates will remedy the problem. Keep up the good work!
