Sorry, I just wanted to find an alternative to Near just for CDs. And this one looks clean and clear, and even in the help section there was a place shown, a check box for NO 2 sec GAP, But in reality, that box was not available in the sw. But I did find a Disc-at-once selector from the pull-down slots, but it failed to remove 2 sec gaps. This is sinful, and the company should not let a simple thing like DAO but with NO GAPS in all versions of this sw ruin the experience of trying it out. Could they be foolish enough to not include it in a trial version? Because if they did, it backfired, and they just lost a potential customer over making me burn several coasters before I knew I was being taken for a ride, amd what was in help was not up to date.

I run a dual-boot system with XP Home in one partition and 98SE in the other. Recently, I installed an NEC 3550A DVD/CD burner. Since my Nero version was bundled with my last burner, it wouldn't recognize the new burner. And while I do ISO burns of DVDs with DVDdecrypter, I only needed CD burning capability.

On the 98SE partition, DeepBurner Free worked flawlessly. However, on the XP partition, a number of weird anomalies surfaced. For example, it would sometimes merge tracks ... burning two tracks as one (one track following another) instead of as two separate tracks. And sometimes, following a burn, it would shut itself AND Windows down. On one CD with 77 minutes of programming, it created a CD that cut off the last part of the last track and showed it as having 90 minutes of programming.

In short, I consider it a completely reliable tool in my 98SE partition and a completely unreliable tool in my XP partition. However, in fairness, I have no idea whether these anomalies are caused by the software or if my new hardware (or the XP OS) have something to do with them. But, until further notice, I'll be using it exclusively in my 98SE partition.

In an attempt to backup files, I tried to write about 3 gigs to a data DVD. This software predicted that it would take over 7 hours! This is not practical software for me.

You cannot complain as its free but it will not burn Bin & cue files. Until this is supported most people myself included will find it of little use.

Won't recognize DVD+R blanks. Just says medium is not writable. Problem has been on support forum and unresolved since 2003. This program is worthless to me.

I have been searching for a long time for some way to burn my Pinnacle Studio Capture files to a DVD in order to save the clips that I want to use/add later for re-editing. Such as wildlife or sunset DV. I just burned 3.8 gigs of previously captured Studio DV. Perfect burn. Easy to use, and best of all Pinnacle Studio 7 found them and added them the the other studio capture files. Now I can save my bear video clips for later use.I am well pleased.

I Just wish I could burn my mpeg 2 with it. Great for burning AVI or DV as a storage disk!!!

COMPLETELY FREE - NO SPYWARE, etc. YAY!

Very simple and easy to use.

I'm used to burning CD's but am new to DVD's. I only tried DB on DVD's.

I had some trouble with DB but it could just be me or my incorrect set-up (?)

Multisession didn't work for me, although I did everything by the book. Everything I burned was a 1 shot deal and it write protected the disc (closed the whole disc) afterward.

DB burns at 4,8,16X and 'max'. My NEC 1300a burns at 4x max. I would have liked to burn at 2x, but no option in DB for that.

Speed selection menu has a bug - I had to select the field and type in "4".

I wanted to try 2x because every disc I burned had read errors (http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/). However, I'm also using non-branded (Matrix) discs. I don'y know if my write/read errors are because of the cheap discs, my set-up, DB or a combination. I haven't used any other burning software yet.

so easy to use and very good results on burning vcd, they are constantly updating programme and there is even update button on toolbar, they look at feedback from users to further improve. This could end up knocking Nero of it's perch. It's free and enjoyable to use !

This program is alright for burning, but at this point, there is nothing about this program that would want me to switch from another burning program.

Tested this program today to create a stand alone self starting CD to play a mpeg file. It was able to create a autorun script to play the mpeg file in media player classic. I was impressed with the results. I will be using this program more often to burn my discs.

It's a good start for a Beta. Successfully burned a data DVD (using DVD-RW) and put audio_ts and video_ts on a DVD-RW but it would not play (files were written and present) on my DVD player. Fairly easy to use with a Explorer style interface. Erases disks a little slow. This program has good promise. Best of all it's Freeware.
