This is a really simple tool to make Audio DVDs with menus and photos (it also makes CDs but I didn't use it for that). To be clear, this makes Video DVDs geared towards audio, NOT DVD-Audio discs. I suppose the main intention was for people to combine several CDs on one DVD, but I use it to make single ISOs of surround sound material to play on my Dune HD media player, since the Dune will not play CD images. It's only too bad that the developer stopped working on the software in 2005, because it could use some improvements, namely: DTS audio support (I have a LOT of DTS CDs, to get 5.1 in this program you must convert to AC3, which is inferior to DTS); support for later versions of Windows -- the requirements on the website list only Windows 95/98/Me, NT/2000/XP, Server 2003, no Vista or later, and it crashes a LOT in Win7x64; and lastly, the simple ability to put up a different photo with each track, as it now only supports one photo per album. Despite the crashes, this remains a valuable tool for those who just want to get some tracks onto a video DVD quickly without fiddling about with video files as you must do in the alternative options for this sort of thing.

Nice tool, but there has a major flaw at least under Vista x64 is that DVDs created from 24 bit / 96khz .wav files there are "pops", checked on my computer and DVD player. Not present in lplex, unfortunately lplex has other problems, like white noise at the beginning of tracks...still looking for the proper tool to create Audio DVDs !

The Adctools program that comes with this can be used to convert the audio track of any video file to Dolby 5.1 ac3. Re-mux with VDubMod.

I downloaded the trial version and have been trying for a week now to transfer files from iTunes into the program without any success. Support only tells me to put the songs I want to access on my hard drive and then transfer the file, but they ARE already in my drive. The folder is under "My Computer" "Drive C" "Music Files" and the artists name, but when I click on the folder after clicking on "Audio Files" in the software, NOTHING happens. Any help as to what I'm doing wrong? I know that I can only do 5 songs under the trial version and my folder has 63, but something should be showing up. I won't buy something if I can't even use the trial version.

I use Audio DVD Creator for making DVD-Rs form my own 96/24 and 48/24 PCM recdordings. My only moan would be that there does not seem to be an easy way of burning multiple copies of the same project in one go. Unless, that is, I have missed something. I rather like the tool.

Put simply THIS DOES NOT WORK!! I have now tried half a dozen times to create a DVD and it fails every time creating the IFO file(s) and trashes the VOBs at the same time. This is a major issue Otherwise it's very simple to use and would be superb! Given that there has been no update fo rover 2 years I assume this is a dead piece of software - shame :-(

A lot of Pros but just two Cons : 1)A little difficult to edit the name of the audio files ( I erased lot of times many songs, even full cds pushing the "del" key ). 2)It's difficult to change the menu images. I don't like the mp3 files (I hate them !). I use this soft to rip the songs directly from my audio cds and reencode the songs in LPCM format ... and the quality is fantastic (1536 kbps)... You can put around 6 full audio cds with superb audio quality (much better than the original source cds !!). I tried the same in AC3, and it sounds very good (I put 23 cds in 1 dvd+r in AC3 5.1 192 kbps !!!) . The AC3 sounds much better than every mp3 you can hear...ever with higher bitrates. But when you compare the AC3 with the LPCM sound, you can't go wrong : LPCM. Undoubtely. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and just in case, excuse me for my limited english !!

Actually as of March and April 2006, I cannot see any problems with this program. It does everything it is suposed to, no errors of failures on 2 XP computers, the price is right, there's really no guide required, I strongly sugest it to anyone who wants to create audio dvds or to anyone who needs to convert an audio file or stream to 5.1 Dolby. There is some room for improvement, of course, like a random list or playlists, or importing more info from a MP3 tag in the file. It "only" shows title, album, artist. A plus is that ssuports many languages. Limited customization of menus, but good enough. I compared it with Roxio media creator 8 (that audio dvd creator tools deserves 1 or zero across the board)

It's good as far as it goes. The 'failed to create dvd file' error which was supposed to be fixed in this version is STILL occuring when compiling AC3 files over about 50% of dvd capacity. Until all the bugs are ironed out it will always be a great idea badly implemented.

I also found this tool very limited. If you want to change any titles is means more work outside of the program even before you open the program. As with most tools, user-friendly means ease of use, which this program lacks. Keep working on the functionality, good idea, but not a finished product.

A great tool to create a DVD full of music where you can't play MP3's on DVD or your player doesn't support MP3. By using AC3, you can get a higher bitrate than MP3. I ripped a CD (using this program) and set the AC3 rate at 512 kps. (can go as high as 670 kps) Play back is easy, select your artist and/or album and then hit play on 1st song. The screen then displays song / artist / album. Just needs random play

This program works as promised. I was able to create three audio only DVDs that contained about 6 1/2 hours of music and played on my 3 different Toshiba stand alone players. For whatever reason, the SD-2200 won't play any of the new disc that I create, but it does play the older ones. My Toshiba SD-6200 & SD-1750 play the discs flawlessly. All in all, it's a great tool for creating a music soundtrack for parties. The guests come over at 6:30PM, leave at 1:00AM and I never have to change discs! Great stuff! Roberta

This program doesn't appear to be stable. It crashes when I add multiple wave files to the project and when I did my first burn, the audio was sped up. Is there a patch or something. I am using the trial version so maybe that version is glitchy.

Great idea, but I'm afraid I found the execution of this tool too limited to be useful (yet). First I expected to be able to drop in my own .BMPs as menu backgrounds - nope, can't do that. Then I expected to be able to edit the names of song titles to something more readable than the raw filename, and control the font size etc. Nope, can't do that either (which was very puzzling, since options on menus etc gave every indication that you could, they just did nothing when used). The DVD itself worked fine, which is good, but not good enough to make me want to use this tool in its present form. Hopefully these limitions will disappear soon. In the meantime I can do the create what I want in Maestro: it's a lot more work, but none of the limitations.

I give this program both thumbs up. It does what it says it does with a user-friendly step through menu. The authors are constantly improving the product, with the latest version featuring the ability to create on-screen menus for your Titles (Music albums). Even the Help file is updated to esplain the new improvements in the program (and this is truly something rare)!!

Easy to use but...I found some serious static between songs while pressing "next" on the remote of my DVD player....but not all songs. Tried to create(edit) a better menu with both TMPGEnc DVD Author and Ulead Movie Factory 2 with NO luck.

If you have a DVD player that wouldn't play DVD-mp3 try it. Although I'm missing the expert features such as menus and AC3 bitrate settings, this is nice little tool, easy to use. Creates DVD-Video files contain virtually no video LPCM for perfect quality AC3 (192kb/s) for quantity
