Gave this a try but ran into a problem when Haali splitter is also installed (which is specifically required by various software packages). When using AVISynth for post-processing h264 transport streams the video and audio were grossly out of synch since the video stream was truncated by several seconds. Once I uninstalled AV Splitter the problem disappeared.

Indeed a very good splitter, it works great with madVR, MP-HC and PotPlayer - and is free. Thanks!

Time for correcting myself --- version 1.2.1.1 works properly with Graphstudio, so the fault was of the older builds (1.1.8 and 1.1.6), and had nothing to do with LAV Splitter.

Considering the bugs and limitations in both Haali and LAV Splitter, this filter is very worth trying --- often it works with files and streams which Nevcairiel's filter does not accept. A minor issue is, Graphstudio cannot use it for decoder performance tests, however this fault quite probably comes from Graphstudio itself, and/or from a possible interference by LAV Splitter.
