Glad to see DVB-S2 support now included in standard edition but still have to buy Pro edition (€35) for basic Diseqc functionality - Crazy
DVB Viewer (€20) includes Diseqc plus lots more - so it's an easy value for money decision!
Very, very, much improved. I tried an earlier version 18 months ago and was unimpressed and uninstalled it. I'm now using ver. 6.31.04 and it is excellent.
It's now available in free and pro versions. I'm using the free version with UK DVB via a Compro Videomate TV card. Would not be easy to use by people with only basic computer skills but for competent users this might just be the best free DVB software out there at the moment. It is far superior to the commercial DVB software that came bundled with my TV card.
this program works just fine and it's free and will scan some 20 BEV channels(north america). On the other hand MyTheatre 3.38 will also work quite well, will cost about 40.00$Can.dollars but scan about 300 channels. The choice is quite simple.
With this program and a dvb-s decoder card, you can convert your PC to a Satellite DVR receiver. This program is only for advance user only, you can only find setup document for you needs in forums only. This program is somewhat is in the grey market area for it use.
It does work extremely well once you get heck of it.
So check of mythreatre too, similar program except you have to pay for that.
It is very rewarding if you have to right Hardware and setup.
I am loving it.
Must have alternative software for many current DVB /s cards, like the SkyStar 1 / 2, or the Hauppauge Nova TV.
Very usefull for Center / South and Easter Europeans, for reasons a legal forum can't explain.
It is not a newbie - friendly, neither an easy to use program. It doesn't care to be that way. So keep that in mind: It is only for advance users with a before knowledge of those subjects.
It has various plug in's, which adds tones of features. Depending your location (country), some of them might be or not illegal.
A new plug in, allows to the nokia 92xx/9500/96xx desktop satellite receivers, to use progdvb as their own firmware, with all the benefits it has. Yeah, even the emulation works (tested by me...)
The author of the program is from Russia and most of the plug ins come from Center and East Europe (Checz Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Serbia, etc). So, most of the documentation about it, are not present in English (and never gonna be....). If you are native english speaking users and you don't wish to use online translators and dictionaries to understand most feauters of this program, don't bother with it. The rest, go get it! You won't believe the alternatives that gives to your cheap DVB/s card!
A perfect 10 for this freeware program. Get it!
