Excellent program. One disadvantage is that it neither supports DVDs nor video files merged from DVD's vobs.

Doesn't seem to support mp4 files, I get error messages that the files are not compatible with the software. Guess it's time to find a new program!

i figure you mean the default number a in 30 tiles or 30 EXTRACTions. If its as to the "30" not at all bring editable in real-time, good news for new downloaders (odds are its on a videohelp thread) is it is editable. In Batch just click over the "30". If the input does not open just use ENTER as you

My overall score is bumped up by 1 number(8 to 9) for the fact that though its not a feature rich as others including newer versions it works with older windows without the need to download more files. Remember if it does not except your video type try converting your video type to AVI via "v2v" (more choices) or "TEncoder v4+ (faster)" both and other similar softwaresare downloadable here at videohelp, plus you get to read others opinions.

I don't know why but recently Image Grabber II ( latest version updated ) gives me problem with hardsubbed videos. My DSHOW filters are LAVFilters, but it seems they're not the problem.

ImageGrabberII.NET:
Lite, handy prog. that does the job, as stated it sadly does not work under Vista, or Windows 7 for that matter. No amount of mauling around with compatibility settings got it to work for me.

Older versions run fine on later versions of Windows and for auto. creating caps it did the job. Although I liked the ability to scan a video frame by frame for precise, manual screencaps; a function not available in the earlier versions.

I've moved onto SceneGrabber as of now, which has the 'frame by frame' function, the basic options and a bit more.

Image Grabber II has got to be the best contact sheet creator out there. I don't really know what the .NET version improves upon other than a few more variables in the legend. Unfortunately, unlike the non-.NET II version, Image Grabber II.NET cannot string together multiple movie files into one image like Image Grabber II. For example, if you have movie.parta.avi and movie.partb.avi Image Grabber II will let grab shots from the first file and then load the second file and append shots to it as well. Image Grabber II.NET lost that functionality which is the most important aspect to me so I'm sticking with good old Image Grabber II (non .NET version)!

The last version of this program is Image Grabber II.NET, which does have a batch feature. Unfortunately, the author never had a stable homepage, and development was discontinued long ago. This is why you can hardly find it to download on a trustworthy site and even sites like this one have old versions instead. The program is thankfully still available in The Wayback Machine, at http://web.archive.org/web/20061004212351/http://www45.brinkster.com/antworkz/

Sadly, it doesn't work under Vista x64.

An excellent program that is missing only one feature: Batch mode.

Review by jh443 on May 24, 2009 Version: 2.0.0.3 OS: WinXP Ease of use: 8/10 Functionality: 8/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 8/10

i have only one complaint about this otherwise fantastic program; there is no help info.
it took me a while to figure out the icon next to the tv screen is for single shot frame grabbing. i still can't make head or tails of what it is.
may i suggest adding some simple explanation to the help menu.
other than that one minor fault, this is a fine program.
and you can't beat the cost ;-)

This is a very great program, but it would be cool if there is an option to save the output in a lossless format (e.g. tiff).
