Oldie but a goodie! I try to use avs2dvd for most things as it's pretty streamlined but this program handles advanced things a lot easier. A few are:
-Will mux streams that avs2dvd says are too high a bitrate (even though it came from a DVD)
-create subtitles from a srt file and do it's resolution separate from the video resolution (I.E 352x240 video) Others try to scale the subs at the same resolution resulting in failure or tiny subs
-Can be a pro or con but allows muxing 480x480 (svcd streams) to a dvd as long as you redo the audio. Not guaranteed to work on all dvd players, but all of mine play without issue.

A shame this isn't developed anymore, but then again the programs runs just fine so maybe there's nothing to develop.

I absolutely love this program. At first I found it very unintuitive, but as soon as I'd worked through the few basic quirks in its design I found it very easy to work with, and it does a superb job of authoring. My only complaint now is that I am no longer using windows as my primary o.s. and there is no linux version :(

I haven't yet found anything native to linux that approaches the feature-set of gui for dvd author. dvd styler has improved since the last time I looked at it, but it isn't there yet...

I'm sorry I don't remember your nick off hand, but anyway, thanks for this great program (even though I can't use it any more...)

Re the %d: you have set the output to split into multiple files once it reaches a certain size. Therefore you need to set the output filename to include a %d. The %d will change to 01, 02, 03 etc. So you could have %dmy_file, and the output directory will end up with 01my_file, 02my_file etc. More commonly, you would specifiy the output as my_file_%d.

After making a few DVDs successfuly. This time I'm stuck with the cryptic error message:

'Need to split output but there appears to be no %d in the filename pattern'

I have no idea what the problem is and have been unable to find a way round it. It doesn't work with the video files muxed or demuxed. The MPGs were encoded in Sony Vegas which I've used in the past numerous times.

Not entirely intuitive, but reading the included html help file fixed it. Just what I needed, a simple mux-er to basic DVD compliant files. Does the job well, fast and free.
