1. changing frame rate doesn't work
2. doesn't warn if Nero not installed, just encodes video then says audio "missing"
3. min and max q are STILL 10-51, despite the change log

Review by blud7 on Feb 12, 2013 Version: 2.0 Beta OS: Windows 7 64-bit Ease of use: 9/10 Functionality: 5/10 Value for money: 9/10 Overall: 7/10

Very good alternative to SUPER.

Opens and converts to many audio and video formats, can use Avisynth with and very easy to use.

Thanks Tony George.

Tried version 1.3.0.3. Still can't get x264 encodes to work and any profile that uses AAC audio gives the error:

"Forcing output FourCC to 34363248 [H264].
AE_FAAC, Unable to load libfaac.dll
Exiting..."

Downloaded v1.3.0.1 twice but the program "about" says it's v1.3.0.0. Also have a problem encoding to x264 where it appears no video is encoded and MKVMerge can't find the video file that is supposed to be merged and it fails. On the other hand if I use MPEG4 all seems to work properly.

Perhaps the DVD importer needs a bit more fixing - I couldn't preview any video which was imported from DVD files. Also, it could use some more flexibility, i.e. I would like to choose which title set to import. Another strange behaviour is changing the video specs. A standard PAL DVD with 720x576 MPEG2 video is imported as 704x416 raw video. Things like resolution shouldn't be changed by default. This is what video filters are intended for.
However, this is by far the best ffmpeg-and-stuff frontend - MUCH MUCH better than Super! Everyone who complained about Super's development lately should try this one!

The file which Avira complains about is mplayer.exe. Just a guess: as mplayer2 is used, and maybe with a special compression, false positive shows up.
I tested the file on Virus Total, and only 3 AVs are showing an alert.
Look here: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?i ... 1313890448

Thatīs the problem with Heuristic Scans :-)

Program is great, very easy to use. And the use of excellent encoders make the result very pleasant.

whenever I grab this my Avira AV says that this package has the "TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen3". I'm not sure if this is a false positive or if it's harmless or it's sumthin else. Might need a clarification.

This version is a step in the right direction. For a year now,FFCoder is the only transcoding tool on my computer (,and iīve tried a lot of them).PC TV-card + this app = a winner combination. Thanks to author.

Review by jaodsvuda on Mar 6, 2011 Version: 1.1.0.0 BETA OS: WinXP Ease of use: 9/10 Functionality: 9/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Needed a way to convert 5.1 and 2.0 channel AAC (LC) to AC3, either from demuxed mkv (raw AAC) or right from MKV container.

Tried several other programs with no success, but this program worked.
Very comprehensive transcoding software. Lots of options available for
each selectable format.

Also implements 2 ways of transcoding, either ffmpeg, or avisynth + directshow, which allows for further video enhancement.

Very glad to have found this software, meets my transcoding needs so far.

Review by crazedpeddlar on Mar 20, 2010 Version: 0.99 beta OS: WinXP Ease of use: 9/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

The pro's: it's a very manageable interface - nice, 'tidy'and fast - really great, if you don't know/care too much about command line usage.
The cons(s) for me: I would have loved to try using it with mencoder to transcode from h.264 to xvid, but it worked extremely slow (~7 fps) on my system. My computer is not the fastest these days, but with ffmpeg I still get about 15-19 fps during the process, so far having used AVANTI-GUI.
Well, still like the look and feel, will try a bit more, perhabs further updates will remedy the problem.
Keep up the good work!
