NO LONGER DEVELOPED
|Aften is a simple, open-source, A/52 (AC3) audio encoder. It is based on the AC3 encoder from FFmpeg, but some improvements are added. Command line tool but GUIs are also available, download EncWavtoAC3 here or the old download AftenGUI here.

I started to use this application today and was very impressed with the fuctionality and speed of this app. Its much faster then ffmpeggui which I used to convert wav to ac3, But Aften accepts an interleaved 6 channel audio wav file created with Adobe Audition and converted it to a 6 channel AC3. It sounded crisp and clear without any volume drop after the conversion. I am a happy customer! Oh I forget, this app is free. What more can I say?(LOL)
What is typical when using AftenGUI (and only this particular frontend, thus not EncWAVtoAC3 nor Aften on the command line), I get some sort of noise click right at the very end of the encoded ac3 file.
Peculiar, but keep up the good work!
Overall very good freeware. Much faster on my system than besweet. If using EncWavtoAC3GUI be sure to also download Aftenand put it in the gui's directory.
