Yes, you can cut on I frames (half to several seconds depending on GOP length) or use a &quot;smart render&quot; editor like Womble that re - encode the affected GOP only.

      <description>AVI is a container.  A &quot;box&quot; that can hold audio and video with any of hundreds of compression schemes.  You probably just need a decompression codec for whatever is in the AVI file.  Use  GSpot  or  MediaInfo  to see what's in the file.
