Variable time shift

I've searched google and the forums for an answer, but all I found was how to solve a constant time shift. So I decided to post my question anyhow: I have a variable time shift; at the beginning of the movie it is about 500ms and at the end 0ms. Is there a way to correct this? (I.o.w. make the time shift a function of the play time?)

Nero 9 Recode - DVD audio error

I'm trying to convert some of my DVDs to AVI using Nero 9 Recode in windows 7.

They are standard movie DVDs and the main movie audio is AC3 5.1

However when I load them into Nero Recode I get this error:

"At least one unsupported audio track has been found. Unsupported audio tracks from DVD titles are ignored for Nero Digital encoding"

Best settings for H.264/AVC for low power laptops

Very true I guess... it's just that I thought H264 was well known for generally being more resource hungry than Divx etc due to the better efficiency of compression. If there is really nothing much to be gained from playing with all the settings, that just makes life alot easier!

I thought post in Newbie wasn't the good place sorry.
Media Info said nothing special, .MOV extension and size.
I can't understand how MP4 camera can generate .MOV.

That's why I think crash just cutted header and generated a 256ko MP4 file with only header / launch session (3second black video). Big file .MOV is just moov atoms parts without...

Have you tried the 64-bit version available from the author's homepage ?

Unfortunately, though, FAVC hasn't been updated in quite a while, so I'm not sure if there are any other issues lurking in regard to Win7. You might try other programs like DVD Flick and AVStoDVD , in the meantime.

IIRC for AVI sources StaxRip reads the DAR using MediaInfo so it's likely a problem with MediaInfo or the AVI file.

Handbrake is the best, and its free/shareware, but its slower than death: if you want to rip a lot of stuff quickly before traveling, forget it. I find CloneDVDMobile the most useful payware: it isn't cheap, but its lightning-quick with results I found surprisingly watchable even on a 50" screen in a hotel room. The only seriously annoying draw...
