Well, what I mentioned above was meant to be a 'simple' guide. :D But if you have AC3 audio, I believe you'll have to downmix the channels. With the audio set to MP3 (lame) , push the Filters button under Audio , and in the Mixer: dropdown, select Stereo. (I think that's how it's done - I haven't actually tried to convert 5+-channel audio usin...

Thanks for all the replies. I apolgize for this as it is probably a daft question, but isn't there quality loss between Vegas and my rig if it is exported as a DV AVI file? Is there a way to export form VEGAS with no loss of quality?

Question about interlacing

I like interlaced videos.

Check Splash for playback of interlaced clips.
You will get great picture quality even if you dont use hardware acceleration for video decoding.
If you have quite strong PC make sure to check "Best Quality" option. It will make something like 100Hz in modern TV sets.

Thanks.

The idea behind using gray vs. black side pillars is the neutral contrast will result in less temporary burn in when switching between 4:3 and 16:9 programs. It will also offer some protection if you leave a 4:3 image up for some time. I'd use a 16:9 screen saver or turn it off when not actively watching. A second reason to turn it off is plasmas d...
