Blu-ray Disc standalone results/tests on DVDR of AVCHD, BD, FULLBD, CROPPED, HDAUDIO

THE TEST 1 For AVCHD, NEWBD, OLDBD, C1080, C720, DTSHD, THD you can download test samples from sendspace / mediafire (23MB) and burn the isos with imgburn. If burning to DVD+R make sure booktype is set to DVD-R. In order for FULLBD testing you need to process an original BD with BD-Rebuilder 2. Try playing avchd.iso, newbd.iso, oldbd.iso, avchd_aux.iso, avchd_strict.iso (results try to be as accurate as can be but aren't guaranteed) 3. If avchd.iso plays test avchd-crop720.iso, avchd-crop1080.iso, avchd-dtshd.iso, avchd-truehd.iso If avchd.iso doesn't play but newbd.iso plays test newbd-crop720.iso, newbd-crop1080.iso, newbd-dtshd.iso, newbd-truehd.iso 4. When testing FULLBD if it doesn't play with default output run the index.bdmv through goBD and try again. 4. Report what plays and what doesn't. In order for the the crop iso's to be considered playable they have to show a round circle centered on the screen and and no video artifacts. For FULLBD please report if there is any thing in BDMV/JAR directory. Thanks in advance. H.264 video only

Using DGIndex

DGIndex is one of the most versatile and important tools available to digital video enthusiasts. As a standalone program it can give detailed information about MPEG1and MPEG1files, as well as demuxing and sometimes repairing them. As a preparation and analysis tool used in conjunction with AviSynth or other tools it's invaluable for working with MPEG-2 sources.

Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player on PC

1 Went to Circuit City, used $40 off coupon to get Xbox 360 HD-DVD player for $160. 2) Came home, opened box of Xbox 360 HD-DVD player. 3) Plug in USB for HD-DVD player to PC USB port. 4) Plug in power for HD-DVD player to powerstrip. 5) Windows XP automatically recognizes HD-DVD player as XBOX 360 HD-DVD Player and Toshiba HD-DVD ROM... no hacked drivers required. 6) Installed PowerDVD 6.5 7) Insert HD-DVD movie disk. The 360 HD-DVD player came with King Kong, but I also purchased "Fearless" with Jet Li. cool.gif Hit play on PowerDVD 6.5.

Basic Guide How to Convert AVI Files to DVD with Avi2DVD

vi2DVD is a GUI that uses freeware tools and various freeware encoders (QuEnc/FreeEnc/NuEnc) or CCE to perform conversions such as AVI, OGM, MKV, and WMV to DVD, SVCD, or VCD. It can also be used to convert DVD to SVCD or VCD. One of nice features I like about this program is automatically convert audio files to AC3 format. The current version, Avi2DVD 0.4.2 beta, is still in beta phase so it's still buggy though. After installing Avi2DVD, some of my programs such as VirtualDubMod15.10.2 or DGIndex became extremely slow and sluggish and returned to normal as soon as I uninstalled it. It seemed to be some kind of codec conflict that’s caused the problem. Hopefully, the future updates will improve this handy program. In this basic guide, I will show how to convert .avi file to DVD only

CCE 2.70 is the latest incarnation of the possibly fastest and highest quality MPEG-2 encoder (it does MPEG1as well but other encoders beat it at that). MSU Lossless Codecs Comparison

The name of this video codec category declares full quality losses absence - the decompressed video stream should be completely identical to original. Output quality is same for all codecs. Absolute absence of losses is a very strong requirement, therefore it is often hard to achieve compression ratios above 31 Some of the tested codecs have an opportunity of work in "lossy" mode; it allows to reach considerably higher compression degree with rather small losses of quality. However, only "fully lossless" mode is considered in the current comparison. The only parameter of comparison is the compression level.

MPEG2 Encoder test(XviD source), CCE vs TMPGEnc vs Procoder vs MC vs QuEnc

So, i guess this will really prove 2 things: 1 If you know a little bit (dont have to be the master in it) about how to tweak the software encoders, you will get a very satisfatory output with any of this 5 encoders. 2) The difference on the output from all this 5 encoders will not justificate the price difference the encoders have ($0 to $2000).
