Using Debugmod FrameServer on Windows7 64bit (with Sony Vegas Pro 10 64bit)

It took me several hours and generated several headaches along the way until I got it to work. This is a short guide to explain how to setup DMFS (DebugMode FrameServer) up and get using it, to enjoy the wind-fast rendering capabilities of this nifty little IO tool!

AVCHD to Anything Using DGAVCdec

There aren't too many free methods to convert AVCHD to other formats. Recent upgrades to the libavcodec.dll library have built in PAFF support, which allows AVCHD to be properly decoded. The latest DGAVCdec program works with AVCHD, once you've demuxed the audio from the video. Here's one way to do it.

Using a frameserver between Premiere and TMPGEnc

Although most people recognise TMPGEnc's excellent encoding quality, and many are willing to put up with its long encoding times, it's sometimes not possible (and rarely if ever practical) to export your entire project to an AVI file and then load that file into TMPGEnc. Ideally TMPGEnc should be able to work as a plug-in to video editing programs, allowing the editor to export directly to MPEG-2 from the timeline. Unfortunately this is not possible, but there is a process that's close enough (as long as you're editing in Adobe Premiere version 5 or above): frame serving.
