| I'm looking to play videos, pics, etc. from my PC to TV. My PC is quite a distance from my TV so I wanted to go with a wireless system but I'm not sure what is best in terms of picture quality and a few reviews I read said they had less than acceptable picture quality.
I thought maybe use my laptop, buy I only have an SVGA output and I've read the cables from SVGA to HDMI also have a blurry picture, so I thought maybe a DVD player that would play multiple formate. Then I read reviews and it said that it's hard to find a device that is able to play multiple formats and it is better to use a computer. Now I'm back to a wireless PC to TV device if there are any out there that are reliable, good picture and don't cost an arm and a leg. Any recommendations out there? Thanks, J | ||||

| You need a media PC or laptop.

| Any wireless media center extenders are going to cost almost as much as buying a basic HTPC so the choice is yours. I'd prefer the full HTPC. I think there's a long thread about a WD one in this forum. | ||||

| Do you already own a xbox 360 or playstation 3? If so you already have all you need to network to the pc. The ps3 has built in wireless. The xbox 360 needs a pricey adapter for one - or you can get a generic wireless add on so long as it specifically states it works with the 360. From there you can use windows media player or tversity to stream.
Just be aware that video streamed wirelessly can lag and stutter. I know this is true for wireless G. I don't have N yet so I don't know if the extra bandwidth makes that much of a difference. Of course dlink makes devices you can check into if your not into gaming. | ||||

Yes, he'd have to have composite or s-video out on his computer. |
