| I recently installed windows xp pro on a pc that used to run xp home. I use VLC media player to play my media but for some reason now when ever i try to play any thing on vlc media player it only plays the audio but no video and after wards starts making my pc lag really bad and then my screen turns off and on. I installed the right drivers because online media works. Any suggestions? | ||

Online media players don't use the graphics card's video processing hardware. VLC (and most other media players) does. Update the graphics card's drivers to the latest WHQL certified drivers. If you continue to have problems you'll have to look at some other driver and VLC settings... As an experiment you can also try setting VLC to use Windows GDI (the same interface online players use) for output. |
