VirtualDub - Editing and Fixing Sound |

| Hello All,
I downloaded a trial of PowerDirector 8 last night and it seems like a pretty comprehensive program. I think the retail cost on it is like $80 or so. The problem is I dont see myself doing that much video editing so I am having a hard time justifying the cost. I dont mind spending money if I am going to use a software program but not if I am only going to use the program rarely. I have read and leared what I can about VirtualDub. I will download it to my PC tonight to give it a try. Here is what I want to do with a program: Basic editing - primarily removing unwanted portions of video Capturing - I bought a USB capture device. Can't remember the name but it works pretty well. Capturing will not be a primary need. More of a nice to have. Can VirtualDub fix sound problems, ie if sound is out of synch can the sound be sped up or slowed down to match the video. Lastly, I want to be able to burn the video to DVD. Does VirtualDub have this functionality or should I try something else? I have used DVD Flick which works pretty well. Thanks, Bill |

| Yep, you can do basic cutting(use video and audio -> direct stream copy to avoid reconversion), capturing and also adjust some sync issues(audio->interleave) but not any dvd conversion.
So try it! and if you get stuck be sure to google for a guide. :) |
