Video Dimension question on HDD media players
lumster posted 2008 May 12 10:16
Hi everyone,
This has been a question that has bugged me for a while but its to do with watching videos from the computer. Some of my video files are roughly 624 x 352. Now I have been looking at buying an HDD media player and one I saw says the output for Pal would be 640 x 480. So far so good. What I wanted to know was when I play this file what happens to the picture. Does it marginally stretch to reach that or will it mean that there will be very thin black bars on the side? The reason I ask is that I once bought a DVD/VCR LG player that when i played a file similar to those settings it seemed to cut off parts at the side? I could tell by watching a clip of the file on my computer and comparing side by side.

Thanks

It will stretch so it will fit....and hopefully will it keep the aspect ratio so you will get black borders top and bottom.

What is the name of the hdd player?
