VCD rip with VCDEasy

just_some_guy posted 2002 Dec 10 17:01
has anyone done this ?
i have 1.1.2 and there is something that says rip and it shows some of the icons but it looks like it would rip it to a file, and not extract that actual mpeg....any help would be good thanx

It's been a while since I did this, but it can extract the MPEG and related files, plus give you an XML file to recreate the image. You'll also get a bin/cue pair along the way, since the vcdimager back-end tool that extracts the MPEG works with bin/cue files.

Make sure you have VCDEasy set up to use your CD-ROM or CD-RW. Put the VCD in whatever drive you have set up in Settings->CDRDAO.

Go to Tools->(S)VCD Build/Rip. Under vcdxrip select CD Reader or CD Writer, depending on your cdrdao settings and which drive you put the disc in.

Click "XML file". Navigate to a directory and save the XML file. Click "Rip". All the files will end up in the directory where you saved the XML file.

:D hi,

im new to ripping vcds but i used the VCDGEAR GUI to rip into mpegs. I put in my vcd movie in my cdrom and then extracted the mpegs from there into VCDGEAR GUI. I created a new folder to put the mpegs in there. I then used VCDEASY to burn to CD-R. in the VCDEASY all you need to do is find your mpeg files and add them where it says MPEGS/ PICTURE FILES. That is how I have done mine. My vcd movies playback on my standalone apex dvd players and my shinco portable dvd. To some it maybe a longer way of doing it but it works for me. Like I said I am new to this and I am learning more as I go along the way.
