USB AV Capture (with Compro Videomate C200)

I have a Compro Videomate C200 USB AV capture 'stick' that I would like to use in Ubuntu Linux. Perhaps I have become too accustomed to Linux working with 'Plug n Play', but unfortunately it didn't happen for this device. When I plug it in I obtain the following messages from dmesg and lsusb: dmesg : [ 1757.672055] usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 [ 1757.845960] usb 1-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice lsusb : Bus 001 Device 004: ID 185b:0200 Compro Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub I believe that this means that the device is being recognised, but I can't find it listed anywhere as a capture device in programmes such as Audacity. Although I am only interested in sound at this stage, hopefully any answers will resolve possible future problems with Video capture. Is there a utility I need to run/use in order to make use of this device in general, or at least a method by which I can use it from the command line? Rgs
