Update?

Gobs posted 2006 Jan 10 12:27
Hi

Since it's been extremely quiet in here I thought it would be nice if Vitualis or someone could post a little update. The shortfilm web site hasn't been updated at all and videohelp's frontpage news-entry has neither.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the other entries. Any idea when the entries will be available for download?

Cheers

Bo

I'm looking forward to viewing the other films as well...that'll be the best part of the competition. Be patient for an update though, it will come.

I'm fairly sure that the competition details page says that winners and access to all entries will be announced on january 15th, so you javen't got long to wait.

gadgetguy posted 2006 Jan 10 15:16
It does say the winners will be announced on the 15th, but it's a little vague on when the members will have access to be able to vote in the "Special Poll".

evening everyone

( to be honest, I almost gave up on this, all because ... )

You see.. this is why I suggested that we make the subject a little
more clear'er, because some of us would/might miss something in
anything we may have (or were to have) read. I did !!

Yes, I did not see the date for when the winners were to be announced.

Now, I would still suggest that we make the subject more inviting to
what is going on currently or future, as below examples:

Short Film Competition 2005
Short Film Competition 2005 - (to be announced Jan 15th)

Would have been niceer  -- don't you think ?

It *REALLY* should be changed. Because its left opened or abandoned-like,
standing out there without any changes to current events, the way it
is now. Someone should have revised it to something like the above
example. If you do this, at least people know its still active, and
there should be *anticipation* in the minds of everyone curious and
waiting for the unvailing :)

Nah, I reckon everyone that didn't know it was January 15th just need to pay a bit more attention and read the very front page ( http://shortfilm.videohelp.com ) a little more closely :

:paranoid:

gadgetguy posted 2006 Jan 10 20:46
And where exactly does it say when the members will be able to view the entries? :?
If the Members Favorite award is to be awarded with the rest of the awards then I would think the videos would have to be made available before then.

(Edit: Jimmy, did you edit or did I read your post wrong? ) :o

Who says anything is on schedule anyway?

gadgetguy :

Now that I haven't been able to find. I'd suggest that it'll be after the prizes are awarded, such that we cannot watch them then unfairly badger the judges into voting for any particular one. Fairly standard practice, I would've thought - let the official judges make their decision then once the decision is final, open it up for all and sundry to see. No conjecture whilst voting is still taking place that way.

The above was just confirming that the prizes are awarded on 15 Jan.

Are you suggesting that they aren't?

:
... them then unfairly badger the judges into voting for any particular one.

That seems like a reasonable explanation.

Hay, don't everyone beat on me, you know. And, when I first read
the page, it was when it was freshly posted. That could have been
edited in there after I initially read the page. I could be wrong.
But, I did read the page, and thought it was very well laid out, etc.
And, I would not have missed the 'anouncement date' (unless I read
that area real quickly or something - you know)

Still, there may be some people who *didn't* read that web page.

I just think it is a good idea to add in that little revision to
help those who didn't read, know.. that's all :)
