    Hi, thort i was reasonably intelligent!! until..... just bought a wharefdale 80GB DVD HDD recorder and want to set it up with a JVC integrated TV using a scart and can't get it to work. Can anyone help please. TV and Recorder both have 2 scart connections.

    Connect Both using a Scart cable...then make a note of the scart plug name (probably AV1 or AV2)
    Switch on the TV
    Switch on the DVD recorder
    using the remote control set the TV to display AV1 (or AV2).
    (Set tv to accept rgb over scart)
    Set DVD recorder to output RGB over Scart.

    In general if your TV is on, and then you switch your dvd recorder on, connected by scart, it should switch your Tv to the correct channel (called Auto scart switching),
    Insert DVD.
