| Hi all
I searched the forums but did'n find what I need, so here's my question: How do I transcode AVIs for my dreambox 600 PVR? Inside the avi theres DivX video with mp3 sound, I need a MPEG2 TS with MPEG Audio. I thought vlc would do, I used VLC 0.9.2 with these setting: Encapsulation: MPEG-TS Videocodec: MPEG-2, Bitrate 2048 kb/s, Scale 1 Audiocodec: MPEG Audio, Bitrate 192 kb/s, Channels 2 It actually did play on my dreambox, but I got bad block artefacts around moving objects. What did I do wrong, or how do I do it right? Thank you in advance |

| Avidemux claims support for dreambox. You can check their forum for assistance too.
1) video sidebar => DVD (lavc), configure your settings (e.g. bitrate) 2) audio sidebar => MP2 (Twolame), configure your settings (e.g. bitrate) 3) format sidebar => MPEG-TS (A+V) 4) save with extension (e.g. "myfile.ts") If your source was low quality to begin with, your output will look worse (garbage in = worse garbage out) |

| Settings that worked for me:
video bitrate: "2pass avg. bitrate", avg. rate 4096, max bitrate: 9000, min bitrate 2048 audio bitrate: 192... dreams |
