| Ok I have converted an AVI to MOV using WinFF(FFMPEG) and according to longtail the JW Player and flash support MOV files. But still no go. It won't stream and it won't load. You can check this out here:
http://www.digitaleramarketing.net/video/joel/player-test.htm It's the last player. Turn off the HD button then turn back on again to get the MOV file. I cannot get this to stream I've tried regular after convert then I figured it must be something with the ATOM again so I tried faststart and it won't stream. I thought Flash played MOV? What am I doing wrong here? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

| not as far as i know. your choices are .flv or .mp4 - .mov is a different beast best left for quicktime player. |

| Ok thanks for your help. After playing a bit I find out that it will stream MOV file but only if it's encoded using h.264 instead of QT. So basically it turns itself into an MP4. And you also have to use faststart to move the ATOM. So basically it's an MP4, I reiterate.
So in conclusion, no Flash will not stream MOV files, it will stream the files if it is containing h.264. Thanks again. |

| You can just use Avanti to remux the mov file and resave it as an MP4, it wont reconvert the file, check with mediainfo before to see if the file was encoded with their h264 encoder |
