| I'm looking for a standalone USB 2.0 Divx/Xvid player to connect to my TV.
It must have an infrared remote control, scart output (RGB), and usb (2.0) input. Are there any? The only one I found was Tvisto pro. I also thought of buying a pioneer dv-400 dvd with usb input instead. Any recommendations? |

| Philips DVP-5990 and DVP-5992 -- or whatever the equivalent is over there. |

| Don't have Philips here at all.
Btw, DVD playback isn't necessary at all. Just to copy from the PC and playing it on the media player (RGB to tv). I understand that a DVD player with USB is probably the best solution in this case (considering low price)? |

| Just be on notice that I believe most dvd players don't handle high def resolutions for file playback. Meaning you'd be stuck at 720x480 or pal 720x576 (check me if I'm wrong on that pal figure).
If you don't need dvd playback check out hard drive enclosures with media playback ability. Some can do high def video files. |

| 720x480/720x576 - That's the maximum resolution I currently need (regular sony tv).
Which non-dvd players support higher resolutions? |
