Sony DVCAM and AV/C tuner driver problem

Sean_ve99 posted 2009 Nov 02 11:21
Hi
Can anybody tell me what AV/C tuner is? I have Sony DVCAM-DSR 20 when I try to install it in winXP-SP3, I receive an error that windows can’t find AV/C tuner driver and can’t install it, fortunately windows detect DVCAM and I can capture with it but there is an exclamation mark in device manager, I searched in net and found that this is problem between DVCAM and SP3 but I couldn’t found any solution.
Can anybody help me and show me the way to solve this error (AV/C tuner error)?
I appreciate any help in advance.

Don't worry about it. AV/C is an industry standard way of letting AV equipment connect with each other. Your camcorder (like all DV, DVCAM, HDV etc) identifies itself as a particular type of device. Since you can capture with it, Windows has correctly identified the camcorder. But, for some reason, Windows also thinks your device has an analog or digital tuner which it doesn't. Hence, it cannot find the drivers which leads to the exclamation mark.

Thanks for the reply, so there is no way to install it? you mean it always will be YELLOW in device manager?

There is no need to install a DV format device.

Consider using WinDV for capture instead of WMM or Windows capture.

Yes maybe there is no need, but exclamation mark is very annoying.

If you delete the driver does the AV/C tuner come back? I've never had a camcorder load an AV/C tuner driver.

This only happens when I connect a cable tuner box (MPeg2_TS).

This is what it looks like. The AV/C tuner has no affect on DV capture.
