registration problem SVCD2DVD

stgreene posted 2009 Oct 30 21:39
I have donated and registered for the SVCD2DVD. When I click the icon and follow the registration instructions using the serial number information provided as instructed upon registration. After clicking register, nothing happens, the box disappears and I cannot run the software. If I click on the icon again, the same thing happens over and over.....Please advise.

1 try rebooting
2 try disabling your firewall

If your on vista right click on svcd2dvd and choose run as administrator. And it will register for you. I hope this helps.

Thank you both for your help:
lowell- i tried both and neither work. same thing happens
Wizard- when I right click, that is not an option. I go into properties and run as administrator is grayed out....run in separate memory space is checked. But this feature appears to be locked...any ideas?

As you have vista - can you take a look at this thread about installation and Vista issues?

(In particular: installation in a folder other than "Program Files" and running "As Administrator")

ChrissyBoy,
I cannot locate the exe file in the folder for SVCD2DVD v2.5. I do not think that it came over when I downloaded and installed this software.
I have an exe.config file, but I can't seem to open it. Is it possible that I can redownload and install it, without having to pay for this twice?

Do you have "Hide extensions for known file types" enabled in Explorer?

(In Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > 'View' tab. Make sure the checkbox next to "Hide extensions for known file types" is not checked.)

Then, see if the .exe file is present in the SVCD2DVD directory. :)

(Edit: Oops, too late. :D )
