| I have 2 DVD writers in my PC and I am wondering I can do both read and write at the same time.
Let's say Iwant to do backup of 2 movies. Can I do the following: 1. Using DVDFAB, rip movie-1 into hard disk. 2. Using Nero Recode, write movie-1 from hard disk into a blank media At the same time, rip movie-2 into hard disk | ||

Actually, technically I don't see why not, if your cpu can handle it But then again I own a quad core and I still tend to not do too much "multitasking" while I am burnng a disc, I will do some small tasks when burning a DVD, but I would hate having wasted my time making a coaster even w/ cheap DVD discs, and I try to not bother my PC when burning an expensive BD-R ocgw peace | ||

| If they are both IDE on the same cable, probably not. Two SATA drives, maybe.
This is one of those things that technically, sure, it should work. But in the real world, often it won't. Only one way to find out, and you would need multiple tests to make sure it ALWAYS works. Personally, I'm not in that big a hurry. | ||

| Both my DVD writers are SATA drives, usually I use Pioneer 212d to read and LG H62N to write.
I am surprised no one in this forum ever try this. | ||

Two SATA writers should work since they are each on separate hardware disk controllers. Still, when I multitask, I use separate computers. | ||

Are you serious? rotflmao, I don't know if your hardware can pull it off, but mine can do much more than you are even contemplating Lol, I have already reported that I burned my mother a DVD in a window of a blu ray movie I was playing from the HDD while BD Rebuilder was encoding in the background http://forum.videohelp.com/topic368435.html?highlight=burned%20mom%20dvd "BD Rebuilder has a setting called "idle process" it will use all your cores 100% but you can still multi-task like it isn't even running for example: I was using BD Rebuilder to convert a BD movie file to BD-9 while @ the same time ripping a BD from the disc to HDD, then my mom showed up and asked me to copy a DVD for her, I started showing her a blu ray from the HDD, when the movie was done ripping I burned her a DVD in the corner of the screen w/ nero while we were watching the blu ray, and I had never stopped encoding multi-tasking w/ heavy weight apps lol, not office fluff" So, I went from ripping blu ray/watching blu ray/re-encoding blu ray simutaneusly to watching blu ray/burning DVD/re-encoding blu ray simutaneusly Then another time a work buddy came over I burned a blu ray, while we were watching a blu ray, while I was re-encoding a blu ray MozartTx HTPC/Home Media Server (aka Frankenputer) pic and specs http://forum.videohelp.com/topic368691.html ocgw peace | ||

Like I was saying it is not my usual "M.O.", I don't "push my luck" like that all the time, but I have "tested the waters" to see what my rig can do lol not @ all unhappy w/ the results ps. This is why i recommend quads for ppl that want PC's that can "do it all" ocgw peace | ||

I have many computers so there's no need for me to read/write at the same time. My Q9550 does most of my video encoding with DVD REBUILDER PRO. I have 9 dvd burners between 3 pc's. They all have a purpose! :lol: :lol: | ||
