questions re region free dvd hack for LGBD370

Hi

I have been told that if I have upgraded the firmware on the machine (which I have) then I will need to apply the "downgrade" file prior to applying the region hack.

I have tried to apply the "downgrade" file to the LGBD370,however,the cd I burned the file to will not allow access to the file, neither can I access it from a usb stick,am I doing something wrong? The LG website lists the file as being windows xp compatible, yet my laptop is vista home premium 32 bit, does this make a difference? Am I burning the right disc?I use nero to burn a data cd.

I'm in the same situation as Julie, I just bought my DB370 (US version from BestBuy) i tried the LG6000 hack but the player just keeps telling me 'check disc' (i tried different burn software) all discs failed, I tried this directly from the box, no updating, after few days i updated the player and tried again, but same nothing

Then as Julie mentions, I also tried downgrading the firmware, but i NEVER see the update window, any ideas? is the US version of this player able to be dvd multi region?

also, i have many xvid, divx files on cds, but when i load the cd, the player just does nothing, its frustrting cuz i bought this player because of the supposed file format support

please help :|

I don't have this player, but I would bet almost anything that the US version CANNOT be made into a multi-region player. The only BluRay players available for sale in the USA that can be made into multi-region players are Oppo and Momitsu and that is all.
I don't remember which company makes it, but we've had reports of one major manufacturer who has a BluRay player that can be made multi-region for DVD playback, but only the models sold in region 4 can be changed to multi-region mode.

Re my post on networked blu ray players, a question for you BD370 owners:

Can you access/play video files from networked connected devices (PC, NAS etc) with your player?

thanks
