Question on copyright with video

yoda313 posted 2006 Aug 06 15:34
I'm working on some stop motion animation with the freeware "stop motion animator" software.

For the contests you can't use ANY copyrighted material correct? Say like voice clips from a tv show?

So if we were to post claymation type video it would have to be done by our own voices with open source music like the classical stuff???

Is this a rhetorical question?

Well, if it's like last time, I'd guess that there will be a reasonable amount of judges' discretion allowed, meaning that if you aren't blatant and/or offensive in your use, you might be okay. In small doses, anyway. :)

At the same time, I'd recommend against using anything where you're iffy on the copyright just in case you do win, and somebody watches your video on some other site and goes, "Hey, that's my music or voice and I feel like suing you today!" :|
