Cazz posted 2008 Oct 04 06:27
Hi
I have convert some movie from DVD and even from LAVC movie but I have now problem to play that movie I have convert from DVD in my mediaportal

Just nothing happend and I have even install Xvid and some other codec.
VLC can play it but not mediaportal

I open the file with Gspot and find some information that the Corrupt AVI head but when I run Divfix it say nothing is wrong.

Movie that work play on mediaportal

Movie that dont work play on mediaportal

The code I use to convert from another fileformat to DX50
:
ffmpeg -i moviein.avi -vcodec copy -acodec copy -vtag DX50 movieout.avi

The code I use to convert from DVD
:
mencoder dvd://1 -dvd-device movie.iso  -aid 128 -sid 3 -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=128  -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vhq:v4mv:vqmin=2:vbitrate=1267 -vf pp=de,crop=0:0:0:0,scale=720:548 -ffourcc DX50 threads=2 -o movie.avi

to make it work and I can play on my mediaportal I have to first convert DVD till AVI with mencoder and then convert AVI to AVI with FFMPEG and that is strange??

The most obvious thing that jumps out top me is the first line in the Container section of the g-spot screen. The bit that says "Corrupt AVI Header". It looks like the file never encoded properly to begin with.
