Pioneer DVR 630 HS - Recording will not playback

ktmsprocket posted 2008 May 12 03:11
Hi. I hope you can help.
This HDD DVR has been fantastic and I have no problems until now.

All of a sudden one 'file' (recording from TV) will not playback. The thumbnail is available in the Disc Navigator and runs in the smal window, but when i press Enter or Play for that file, the blue 'search' bar pops up (like it does momentarily when working correctly) and just stays there. I notice that it is missing the date and time info.

Also when I go into edit mode (say to delete a section) the screen remains black as if the file can;t be found. The whole machine hangs at this time and it can only be restart by powering off at the mains supply.

Please can you help? Thanks

Sounds like something has interrupted the file being written correctly. You could try writing the disc to a blank, but I suspect it is in fact fubar'd

Yes, someting like that has gone on (i think it occurred wheni deleted 30 mins from it).

It won't copy to DVD disc either. Is it possible to connect to another device to query the hard drive or alter the attributes of the file (ie. repair it).

PS. Its something i REALLY don't want to lose!!!

You could try copying the disc on your PC with an app such as ISOBuster.
