No Sound With Dazzle DVC100 using Virtual Dub |

| I'm trying to capture video from my VCR using The Dazzle DVC100 video device using Virtualdub (because the provided software is horrible). I cannot get the sound to work...all I hear is a loud screeching. I've been trying to mess with the sound options but no results. What could I be doing wrong? Thanks. |

| I have a DVC150, that ran on win98/xp that connected via USB, the included software was moviestar 5 and other stuff. I suspect that the problem is virtuadub's ability to maximumize use of the device. Mine was never able to record using anything but the included software. |

| The problem stems from the fact that you have a hardware MPEG2 encoder card and Windows' VFW interface marks the incoming stream as a video stream, even though it has both audio and video multiplexed together. So VirtualDub doesn't recognize the audio.
You're usually stuck with using the included software with that type of capture device. The PVR software packages may be able to capture from it. Look at Beyond TV or Sage TV. |

| Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.
@jagabo: That makes complete sense. I'll try those softwares you mentioned. |
