No cddrive found. Understanding CDRDAO info

gargoyle_xlvii posted 2005 Apr 29 22:02
I have a HP8200 writer. It is not found by VCDEASY so I went to the CDRDAO site for infomation on it. However I do not understand what it is trying to tell me. Could some one explain it.

HP CD-Writer+ 75XX, HP CD-Writer+ 8XXX, HP CD-Writer+ 9XXX, SONY CRX100

The firmware restricts the possible disk types in multi session mode (DAO only) to one of the following:
* Pure audio CD.
* CD-EXTRA where the 1st session contains only audio tracks and the 2nd session contains 1 data track.
Further restrictions:
* The length of the 1st track's pre-gap is restricted to a certain amount.
* Cue sheets with ISRC codes are rejected of the COPY flag is set. This might be fixed in future versions.

Does this mean I can not use it to burn VCD's?? Even if I use the BIN/CUE.

Not that I know much about that burner, but I see nothing from the CDRDAO site to prevent you burning VCDs.

I don't use VCDeasy that often so I'm not sure why it can't find the drive.

Looking at the CDRDAO site, that drive is listed as working.

Well to tell you the truth, I just do not get it. Yesterday when I posted this request for help the HP8200 would not show up under the CD Writer list. However today it does.

I do have to says that I did install the orginal software for the Hp8200 so this might have added something that was missing.

So I quess that I do not need any help, but thank you any for you help.
