| I have a Philips DVP5990 and I am getting a GMC video not supported error with a set of my videos. They are XVID MPEG-4 encoded. When I try and play them the audio is off sync and the video freezes at times.They are English Subbed, and I'm not sure of the conversion will mess with the subs or not...
I am running Linux, but have access to windows if needed. |

| Philips units often have problems playing avi files with QPEL, GMC, and packed bitstreams. Another tool you might want to try is AVI Recomp: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/AVI_ReComp |
