| My HDTV, of 2 years, has started to show neon hot pink colors when the color should be black. This occurs after 10-15 minutes after turning on the TV, and stays for about 20-30 minutes, than goes away. I've done some quick troubleshooting: called the cable company (yes, I'm receiving the HD input); the hot pink replaces the black color even when watching DVDs. Has anyone experienced this problem? Or should I buy a new HDTV? Or send it in for repairs? The model is a no-name brand Norcent, 36". (I'm hesitant to buy a new HDTV if the repair is less than $300.) | ||

| I haven't experienced that problem before. But if the problem occurs on all the inputs, I strongly suspect the TV is shot. No-name TVs are difficult to fix because the makers frequently don't provide support to repair shops. I'd send it to the recycler and buy a name brand TV next time. Costo generally has a good selection and they automatically extend the warranty to two years.

Is this a direct view CRT? Rear projection CRT? DLP? ??? If you google by model number you may find others with similar problems. | ||

That is an unusual failure mode for an LCD TV. If it isn't a cable/connector issue, it's probably a PC board failure. |
