| It is region 4 currently as I am in Australia -- but have heaps of dvds from USA that we need to play.

| not usually an option with sonys. sorry but they are not readily hackable. no known way with that model either. |

| Thanks -- you have confirmed my research and I am going to return it to the store. There is just no point keeping it if I can't play the dvds that I want. Any suggestions on a home theatre dvd that is easy to unlock -- but not top of the range? Doesn't need to be blu-ray either. |

| Actually the guy in the store told us that they are already unlocked......although they say "region 4" on the box -- and here am I trying to find the unlock code.....we took it home....tried region 1, region 2 dvds and they worked!
The dvd was already unlocked. No need to hack into it. Despite all of the feedback to not buy a Sony -- this one works perfectly fine. |
