| I open up the .mts file and the video seems blocky and a tad slow while playing. I tried converting it using VoltaicHD and it fixed that. However, the video playback is too fast now.
I tried using this method as well: http://forum.videohelp.com/topic347139.html and it didn't fix the blocky video nor the video playback. I'm not sure if it's my computer specs: 1.8 core duo, 1 gig ram. Would I not have enough juice to convert it properly? Thanks!

| What is your goal with the video? Just make an avi for computer playback or make an avi for editing? | ||

What model of Camcorder ? I'm betting you have one which isn't compatible with the standard conversion utilities.

| Yeah, just for playback. I may edit it, as in joining them together, deleting parts.
It's a Panasonic HDC-SD5 AVCHD 3CCD Flash Memory High Definition Camcorder with 10x Optical Image Stabilization. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-HDC-SD5-Definition-Camcorder-Stab ... amp;sr=1-8

| Have you tried play the video using vlc?
After you used voltaichd have you tried reconvert it again to for example avi xvid or mp4 h264?

| Apologize if this is the wrong place to ask about this, but I am trying to repair an .MST file that was recovered from the drive in a Sony HDR-SR5 after someone unplugged the camcorder without disconnecting it via the software first. The video no longer shows up on the camera, but with a data recovery program I was able to track down the file. Whenever I try to open it with any kind of conversion utility I get an error of some sort or the other, the most frequent is "missing sync byte."
Does anyone know of a utility or a way to mend files that may have been corrupted in this way? Any help is much appreciated.
