| Hi,
I connected my PC to my Toshiba HDTV so I could use the TV as my computer screen to watch movies etc. I did two different test with my setting, first I connected the PC and the TV with a DVI to DVI cable(My TV has a DVI connector on it) Everything works fine with this setting, except that when I start any video player (I tried Windows Media Player and FDDShow so far) I can't see the video. I hear the sound but the video doesn't show on the TV. Since that was a fresh XP installation I thought that maybe I had a problem with the PC so I pluged in an old monitor that I had as second monitor and the video was playing just fine. So I thought that maybe that was a DVI problem so I changed my setting and pluged the PC with a SVideo cable on the TV. Same result :( Since I wasn't sure what was my main problem I then went to Youtube to test one of there video and I can see it on the TV screen (no idea what format they use though) I tried to download AVI and MPEG to test it out but no luck at all ... BTW my video card is a GeForce 7600 GS on the computer. Does anyone here had that kind of problem and could tell me what I need to do/install to fix it? Thank you in advance. | ||

| Yes I see the video in the second player ... how so?
Do I have to do something special to see it in the first one? | ||

| It's a graphics card overlay problem.
Look at the settings for your graphics card and "play around" with the overlay settings. - John "FulciLives" Coleman | ||

| If you connect only the TV via DVI and make it the primary monitor on the first output you shouldn't have overlay problems.
If you continue to have problems go the the Display Properties applet from Control Panel, select the Settings tab, press the Advanced button, go to the Troubleshoot tab (on the new dialog), and set Hardware Acceleration to off. Reboot, go back and set Hardware Acceleration to Full and reboot. Hopefully that will clear things up. | ||

| If that doesn't work try updating to the latest WHQL certified drivers for your graphics card. | ||
