| Hi there,
I want to convert my .MKV files to dvd9 or dvd5. No problem whatsoever. But adding subtitles to dvd's is another problem. I tried handbrake, ffmpeg (doesn't support .MKV to .MKV). Doesn't work Can someone help me? I use Wondershare DVD studio pack. Thanks |

| Don't know anything about WonderShare DVD Studio,
but there are two ways I would do this on a mac: 1. I would use MKVTools to flatten the mkv to an xvid avi file with embeded subtitles and mp3 audio. I would then drag that .avi file into Toast v. 7 or higher, and burn (author) a DVD that way. or 2. Extract the files from the MKV using MKVTools, and then using DVD Studio Pro, add the assets into the timeline ( video to video, audio to audio) and run the subs if not .STL ( most are in .SRT format) through Jubler or Subtitler to get a compatible STL file for DVD Studio Pro. Then, I would import that into the timeline, and then Author the project to DVD. So really either you are extracting the assets from the .mkv to have the ability to select ( turn on or off) the subs, OR you are hard encoding them into a "flattened" file that can be easily transcoded to DVD. your choice. |

| Thanks for the tips. I already tried the first option, but xvid contra mkv is a loss of quality.
I'm gonna try the second option. I'll keep in touch. Thanks again. |
