What is the difference between these 2 dvd's?

hech54 posted 2009 Oct 06 10:23
One is printable garbage and the other is non-printable garbage.

use Taiyo Yuden, they are not even that much more if you get 8x burn speed.

In my 5 years of this hobby, that is my conclusion.

filmboss80 posted 2009 Oct 06 10:33
Yeah, it's just an issue of whether you want white coasters or silver coasters.

However, if your looking to buy reliable DVD-R discs, go with either Verbatim of (as victoriabears suggested) Taiyo Yuden.

Coaster
An authored disc that won't play, either due to improper authoring, poor media quality, or write error. The name is derived from the disc's uselessness as a DVD/VCD, may as well be used to set drinks on.

Quoted For Truth. It's amazing that anyone still buys them. Even laymen would've caught on by now.

I've had great luck with Memorex.

I've had zero coasters with Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim in several hundred burns and with several different burners. That's more than luck. :)
