    Hi there

Im trying to record a dvd from my Sky+ box but it keeps coming up with the message 'copyright protected'

I understand that a system called Macrovision blocks certain channels on sky.

Is there any way of getting round Macrovision or disabling it?

    Thanks
    Stacey

    have you looked into these?

    http://www.ktvision.com/shop/osc/index.php?

Please do not link directly to Macrovison tools. Links to a site as above is OK.

    Thanks,

I've never heard of Macrovision being used on a transmission signal.

It sounds more like your DVD recorder has an input issue.

Macrovision is so 20th century. Old news. What's with all the Macrovision questions? It is my understanding that you are within your rights to make a time delayed copy with some sort of TIVO/DVD Recorder to watch content at a latter time. It is not possible to broadcast a signal with imbeded working/effective Marcovision. Something in your receiving equipment, the equipment in your home, is nixing the copy. Something in your Sky Box set top unit or DVD Recorder. Probably the Sky Box unit. I would complain to Sky Box and to the government agency which regulates media and your member of Parliament. Good luck.

Dolly has two posts and both involve the word macrovision...well at least they have been paying attention and have figured out that women's names get more replies than men's names.
