| I want to run a live Linux desktop cd on my Laptop .I tried Sante FE .It wiped out my Win2k Server /2000 partitions. I ghosted Windows 2000 on the laptop ,which is a IBM Thinkpad w Intel P4 and Centrino Tech. I want to try again but am a Newbie and need info. Also ,I need to know what setting to burn the distros to the cd when I use Nero Burning Rom. Should I use the udf/iso ,bootable cd or data file setting ? I have Knoopix ,Goblinx , Mephis and Morphix waiting in the wings. I am fascinated with running a desktop without installing for using Linux Thanks to all.

| I've never heard of this Santa Fe release, but I've used Knoppix before and it's safe. When I burned a Knoppix CD, it was in image format and required no special settings to burn. You just open the image in your burning program and start it burning. |

| I like Sabayon. But I think You'll like find your best Here:http://distrowatch.com/. There You can find what posibilities every distro have and can find distro you like. Then download image file and burn, that's all. Now you can boot from this disk. From The menu choose Live boot not boot to install. |
