| How come I can't play any divx movies or AVI movies off of my Sandisk 16gb usb stick. The dvd player says no files found. I can play the movies off of the stick on my computer. Do I have to wait for a hack??

Does the DVD player support USB 2.0? it should still show up regardless though, my DVD player doesn't support USB 2.0 & wont play the avi files, but still shows them Denis | ||

Multi Format Playability: AUDIO-CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3 Decoding, MP3 ID3 TAG, DVD-R/-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+R/+RW, WMA, Dual Disc, JPEG, MPEG4, MPEG4 HD, MINI DVD USB Plus 480p to 1080i Up conversion DivX Playability HDMI so do I have to convert the avi to mpeg4?? | Check the file system on your USB stick. FAT32 should work. If your USB Sandisk was formatted by you or someone else to NTFS, that won't work because Microsoft charges money for NTFS support and none of the DVD player manufacturers want to pay it. Some streaming media players do support NTFS though.
MPEG4 and MPEG4 HD are generally code names for Divx/Xvid and Divx/Xvid HD. Your files will need to be either Divx or Xvid. The extension at the end of the file name may be important. Some players won't touch *.divx files but will play the same file if renamed to *.avi. I'd suggest that you put an MP3 file on the USB stick and see if that plays. If that plays, then it means that the stick is in a format that the player understands and it's an NTFS issue. If that MP3 file plays fine, then use a program like GSpot to examine one of your files and post a picture here of what it finds so we can look at it. Again, it could just be a name thing. | ||

| Thanks for the help. It looks like the usb is NTFS. It must have came that way. How do I change it to Fat32.

And you are unable to do your own search on Google, Yahoo, etc. because ...??? Just do a search on something like this: reformat USB drive FAT32 Dude, I have gone way beyond what I needed to do in finding you the first link. If you aren't able to do any work yourself, then you don't need any more help from us. I'm done responding to this thread. | ||

| I have the same problem on my LG LH-T751TB player, it just won't recognise data on my USB key, even though it's fine on other players. LG just seem to be awkward like that. |
