Nope.....There are MANY MANY players that cannot be hacked. And stop double posting. | ||

| hech54 is quite correct, but to give you a little more information...
Sometimes manufacturers change hardware during production and break hacks that used to work. This may have happened to this player. Note too that anything that is not a normal standalone player, be it a portable, a car player, or a combo unit (ie. DVD/VHS, etc.) of some type, rarely has a hack. Hollywood has somehow gotten to almost all of the manufacturers and made them to stop producing players that can easily be put into region free mode. I am completely mystified as to the logic behind this move and what they think they are accomplishing. I see only 2 resolutions to this, neither of which will benefit Hollywood. 1) Piracy will increase as people will increasingly turn to Bit Torrent, Usenet and other means for getting DVD rips of DVDs not available in their region since they won't be able to play legally purchased DVDs from other regions. 2) As happened earlier in the decade, the situation will be ripe for Chinese manufacturers who care nothing about Hollywood to step in and produce cheap, easily changeable DVD players that can be made region free. To show you how far Hollywood's reach extends, at this time Samsung appears to not sell a single DVD player anywhere in the world that can be made region free. The situation is getting equally grim for the other major manufacturers as fewer and fewer models are available that can be made region free. So the bottom line is that you probably don't want to hear this, but if those hacks you read about didn't work, there probably is no working hack for your player. |
