    We did everything Panthro said, and sure enough the screen on both the TV and the DVD player said "Code 2" then after changing it to "Code 0" we paused and switched off...but when we put in a US DVD an error message appeared saying "Region zu uberprufen" (ie "Check your Region", in German) - and the DVD would not play...

    Can anyone help.
    Is LG 6054 more protected and less hackable in Switzerland than elsewhere?

    Hate to state the obvious, but the hack isn't working. This could be because you are attempting to use a hack for a different player, a player from another region, or you may have a newer model and the hack is no longer valid.

    Try changing your OSD language to English? Setting an OSD language is a very important FIRST step in a DVDR setup (some remind you constantly if you haven't selected a language), so there might be some correlation between that language and what the machine allows you to do. I'd set the OSD language to English then try the hacks? Pretty far out but very simple to try.
