| Is TS-H552D a dual layer burner? |

| Hi-
I'm new to this kind of stuff and not very computer literate. The DVD/CD burner in my Gateway computer is a TS-H552D. Does anyone know if this is a dual layer burner??? I would like to be able to make back-up copies of some DVD-9 discs I have, but was told that in order to burn a DVD-9 disc, I need a dual layer burner. Thanks in advance for any help! Jeff |

search is your friend......we do have a dvd rewriter section....make sure you're using VERBATIM DUAL LAYER MEDIA....anything but that brand will give you problems such the disc not reading back or playing back correctly... |

| Thanks, budz.
I did see the DVD rewriter section...and I did see my burner listed. However, I couldn't tell (and still can't) if it is a dual layer burner or not. I didn't see that piece of information listed. (Unless it's there....and I just don't get it.) Thanks for the tip on Verbatim Dual Layer media, too. |

| Note the two DVD listings with "DL" after them. |

| Per Nero infotool:
DVD +R DL DVD -/+ R(W) For DVD -/+R my drive works well with Fuji and TDK, but it works best with verbatim media. For DVD-RW and DVD+R DL I only use verbatim. Please note that I have learned from this forum to burn only with imgburn. |
