| I have a home video that is about an hour long, in some parts of it the person holding the camera is speaking, those parts are perfect when it comes to volume... other parts the person being filmed is talking, those parts can be a little quiet sometimes, is there a program that would go through the file and analyze and adjust sound volumes like this?
the file format is AVI (converted losslessly from 105files MP4 H.264) |

| You can try normalize it and see how it sounds like,
Demultiplex the audio from the avi. Using for example virtualdubmod(streams->stream list) Normalize it in audacity, goldwave, sound forge, etc . You can also try other volume filters and see if it helps. Multiplex it back to the avi. Using virtualdubmod again. You can also try http://forum.videohelp.com/topic314909.html |

| Try the freeware audio editor Audacity. Try the Leveller filter. |
